How to make a RESURRECTION GARDEN

He is Risen! Easter is a beautiful time to help remind children to reflect on the meaning of hope, new life and the resurrection of Jesus. One of my favourite ways to do this is by creating a “He is Risen” resurrection garden. It’s a simple, hands-on display that tells the story of Easter and Christ’s resurrection in a fun and visual way.

How to make a resurrection garden

A resurrection garden is a miniature garden scene that represents the tomb where Jesus was buried and later rose again. It usually includes the following:

  1. A planter pot for your garden base filled with soil.
  2. A cross to represent the crucifixion (I used two sticks and twine for this!)
  3. A tomb (made from a small container or small plastic seedling pot). You could even make this out of play-dough if you’d like.
  4. A small rock to show the empty tomb.
  5. Plants or moss to liven it up and symbolise new life!

He is Risen Acrylic Cake Topper This year, make your resurrection garden extra special by finishing it with a “He is Risen” acrylic topper. I make these toppers with acrylic so you can use them year after year as you establish this meaningful tradition with your children.

We keep our resurrection garden by our front door throughout the Easter season to remind us of the life that Christ brings each time we leave and enter the house.

May you be blessed this Easter!
