Why a cake topper? A custom cake topper adds a personalised touch, and makes even the simplest of cakes look more stylish. Cake toppers are an easy and hassle free way to achieve a professional look with minimal effort. Unlike frosting or edible decorations, many cake toppers can be saved as a keepsake – a beautiful reminder of a special day. Make your cake go from average to awesome with my custom handmade cake toppers. They are handcrafted with high quality glitter, textured or metallic cardstock and food safe skewers/ clear acrylic rods. Handmade Earrings

I handmake all my earrings in Dunedin, NZ. I have two styles of handmade earrings: cabochon/glass dome earrings and decoupage earrings. The decoupage method is made with paper and wooden rounds. They are then sealed with a glossy water resistant sealer or resin for protection. Both styles of earrings have hypoallergenic stainless steel findings which makes them perfect for sensitive ears.

Each pair of earrings is unique and generally a one-off pair. Tassels vary in length and style. Please see each listing.

Hi! Welcome to Melrose Paper Designs – Home of handmade cake toppers and earrings.

I’m Mel, a wife, mum of two and lover of all things paper.

I started this business when my oldest was just a baby (7 years ago now!) as a way to earn some income while staying home with her. What started as a small passion for crafting has grown into a business dedicated to adding a personal touch to your celebrations! From birthdays and weddings, to baby showers and anniversaries, I love designing and creating cake toppers (and banners, invitations and party boxes) that make every party stand out. All my party supplies are made to order so please allow up to 10 days for production. It’s generally much faster than this, but can reach ten days during my peak periods. Feel free to reach out for my current turnaround time. 

You’ll also find a bunch of beautiful earrings on my website. Each of those listed are in stock and ready to ship (unless otherwise specified). Whether you love bold statement pieces or delicate everyday accessories, my goal is to bring you earrings that make you feel confident and stylish. My earrings are all made with hypoallergenic stainless steel, making them perfect for sensitive ears.
